Here's the latest news from the global exhibition industry, including show launches, cancellations and date changes.
Messe Munchen's Intl. Solar-Energy & Photovoltaic Application Expo debuts Sept. 6-9 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre, Shenzhen, China. The biennial show will focus on photovoltaic and photogalvanic products, along with products and services for renewable energies and solar construction.
The China Textile and Apparel Trade Fair will relocate from Karlsruhe, Germany, to Paris, Sept. 17-20, as part of Texworld at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre. The show's organizers, the Textile Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of Intl. Trade and the China Textile and Apparel Council, decided on the move after learning it was the preference of Chinese exhibitors.
ITECA Caspian, a partner of ITE Group, rescheduled some international exhibitions because of the Taekwondo and Aikido World Championships to be held at Heydar Aliyev Sport and Exhibition Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan, in late October. Caspian Mebel Expo2007 (for furniture and interior design), BakuBuild (construction) and CEM Azerbaijan 2007 (consumer electronics and household appliances) will be held Oct. 2-5; BIHE 2007 (health care), Beauty Azerbaijan 2007 (a launch) and Stomatology Azerbaijan, Nov. 6-9; and BakuTel (telecommunication and IT), Nov. 14-17.
Expo Vakarai will launch two new trade fairs in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Expo Klaipeda, Oct. 18-20, will present a number of products and services from that region of Lithuania. The second launch is the Inventura Baltic, a tourism exhibition, April 4-6.
Concreta, an international building materials exhibition scheduled Oct. 23-27, will restructure to focus on specific sectors of the industry. The show will still take place annually at Exponor – Porto Intl. Fairi in Porto, Portugal, but each year will focus on different target segments in the construction and public works sectors.
The Changwon Exhibition and Convention Center in Changwon, Korea, will launch a new show Nov. 13-16, the SFT Intl. Surface Finishing & Tools Exhibition for machinery, automotive, aviation and new technologies. Attendees will include large Korean automobile, shipbuilding, aviation and mechanical engineering conglomerates.
Made in the USA, an annual Middle Eastern and North African U.S. commercial business and trade exhibition, will debut Jan. 17-19 at the Cairo Intl. Conference Center. The organizer is ACG-ITF Trade Fairs of Cairo. Exhibits will display environmental equipment and services, oil and gas field machinery services, automotive aftermarket products and services, information technology, packaging equipment, electricity and power generation, medical equipment, hotel and restaurant equipment, food processing equipment and consumer goods.
Stockholm Intl. Fairs will launch the Stockholm Travel Show, Jan. 24-27, 2008. The tradeshow will be trade-only the first day and open to the public as well the last two days.
Expomedia acquired the World Food Market from Ithaca Media. The show, for the ethnic food and world food markets, will take place Nov. 21-22 at London's ExCel Centre.
Messe Munich's biennial IFAT China will run for three days in September, instead of four days in June it used to. The international environmental protection industry show will take place Sept. 23-25, 2008, at the Shanghai New Intl. Expo Centre. The change will create more time between it and the May 5-9, 2008, IFAT in Munich.
