Asphalt, Aggregates Shows to Collocate
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 5/21/2007
The Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers will collocate its World of Asphalt Show and Conference and the inaugural World of Aggregates Forum & Expo, which focuses on concrete materials, March 9–12, 2009, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
"It's a great opportunity for the World of Aggregates to launch its event with an established event," said Melissa Magestro, AEM exhibits manager and show manager for both events.
The Natl. Stone, Sand and Gravel Assn. owns the aggregates show and co-owns the asphalt show with Natl. Asphalt Pavement Assn. and AEM, Magestro said. Because of the overlap in attendees and exhibitors, it seemed natural to collocate the two events, those involved added.
They also will collocate in 2010 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, but no plans have been made for collocations past that date, Magestro said.
"World of Asphalt has always offered top-quality exhibits and educational experience, and this collocation will help us take it to the next level," said Mike Acott, president of NAPA. "The collocation is a logical next step as we continue to grow World of Asphalt and extend its value."
NSSGA has educational conferences and workshops, and the collocation is meant to combine those programs in a central location through World of Aggregates.
AEM will help develop an educational program in conjunction with the exhibits at World of Aggregates, which it estimates will cover 30,000 net square feet of exhibit space.
World of Asphalt is held annually, except in the triennial CONEXPO-CON/AGG show years.
