Software, Interop Mix It Up
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 6/11/2007
CMP Technology will collocate its Software and Interop Las Vegas shows at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in 2008.
Interop 2008 will take place April 27–May 2, and Software 2008 will be April 28–29.
Lenny Heymann, Interop general manager, said the lines between software and infrastructure are blurring, and innovation is dependent on their integration. The collocation of the software and infrastructure events is a natural progression that will better serve business technology professionals, he added.
M.R. Rangaswami, founder and executive conference director of Software 2007, said teaming up with Interop 2008 would introduce the show and its sponsors to an even larger audience of CIOs and IT buyers.
This year, Software 2007 was held May 8–9 at the Santa Clara (Calif.) Convention Center, and Interop was held at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino May 20–25.
In 2006, CMP reported, Interop Las Vegas attracted 12,667 attendees and 395 exhibiting companies to a 140,000 net square foot showfloor. Software 2007 attracted nearly 2,000 attendees.
Natalia Wodecki, CMP Media spokeswoman, said the firms hadn't yet determined whether the shows would share registration and admission.
