Michael Hart -- Tradeshow Week, 6/11/2007
Messe Duesseldorf reported that its Hair Intl. Trend & Fashion Days 2007, a trade fair for hairstylists, attracted 21,100 trade visitors to the Duesseldorf fairgrounds March 24–25. That represents a 35-percent increase over the 15,600 trade visitors at the 2006 show. The event featured 150 national and international exhibitors and brands, 50 more than last year. Its success puts Duesseldorf on the same level as London or Paris for international hairstyling events, according to Project Director Helmut Winkler.
The Biotechnology Industry Organization said its 2007 BIO Annual Convention broke records in attendance, as well as exhibiting firms and economic impact. The May 6–9 event at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center drew a record 22,366 attendees, nearly 15 percent more than the 19,479 in 2006 in Chicago, used 31,100 hotel room nights and featured more than 2,000 exhibitors. According to BIO, it generated more than $31 million in economic impact for Boston, which represents the largest amount for an event in the facility's history.
