The Advertising Specialty Institute promoted President Timothy M. Andrews to president and CEO and appointed him to the board of directors of ASI Computer Systems.
The American Gem Society elected Dave Bonaparte, group vice president of JCK Events, to its board of directors.
ICD Publications created a conference and special event business segment and appointed Rob Cappiello vice president of conferences and special events. Cappiello previously served as industry vice president for the Natl. Hardware Show for four years.
John Chadwick joined Airways Freight to promote business development. He was previously with TWI Group.
Dmg world media and George Little Management announced that Chris Gowe, vice president of Canadian Gift Shows, will assume responsibility for the California Gift Show Oct. 1. Gowe will continue to be responsibile for the company's four gift tradeshows in Canada, but has relocated to the Los Angeles office.
Holly Johnson joined the Georgia World Congress Center sales team as sales manager. She was previously a catering sales manager at the W Atlanta at Perimeter Center.
Exhibitgroup/Giltspur named Frank Laudo vice president and chief creative officer, a newly created position. In the Dallas corporate office, Ken Revenaugh was named director of sales operations and Steve Taylor senior vice president of IT and customer relationship management.
Katja Morgenstern joined the Georgia World Congress Center as sales manager. Jim Mastley signed on as director of engineering.
Tori Piersante joined the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau as director of convention sales, with a focus on the education market.
The Anchorage (Alaska) Convention & Visitors Bureau appointed Julie Saupe president and CEO. She was previously vice president of ACVB's community and visitor relations department.
Udo Schuertzmann was named managing director of the new company Messe Duesseldorf India. He was previously a consultant to Reed Exhibitions Germany, focusing on the Russian market.
