Where: McCormick Place, Chicago (always the same)
When: July 10–12 (annual)
Show owner: The ASI Show
Service contractor: GES Exposition Services
Who exhibits: Manufacturers and suppliers in the advertising specialty industry, including those who provide imprinting services, advertising buyers and print and electronic resources such as catalogs, information directories, newsletters, magazines, Web sites, tradeshows and databases
Who attends: Promotions and advertising buyers
2006 show statistics: 112,400 net sq. ft.; 808 exhibiting companies; 4,404 professional attendees
First year of show: 1999
New this year: Not much. ASI is keeping its tried-and-true format with free keynotes, educational sessions and networking events, along with two days of exhibits.
The bottom line: With new products debuting every year, you never know what you might see on the showfloor. Last year, there was a walking king action toy from Burger King, based on the popular commercials. What will this year hold?
