IAEE Hosts Its First Seminar in China

The Intl. Assn. of Exhibitions and Events' China office will hold the first IAEE China Seminar July 4 at the Jin Jiang Hotel in Shanghai.
IAEE President Steven Hacker said, "The purpose of the seminar is to deliver training and education to our members in China."
The China Council for the Promotion of Intl. Trade, the China Assn. for Exhibition Centers and the China Exhibition Organizers Commission endorse the seminar. Official sponsors are the Venetian Macao and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors' Authority.
IAEE estimates 150 participants will attend the seminar, which it refers to as a "global think tank" with guest speakers from Asia, Europe and the United States:
- Sandy Angus, chairman, Montgomery Exhibitions
- Chris Meyer, vice president of convention center sales, LVCVA
- Mike Tan, director of business development, CMP Asia
- David Weil, senior director, SmithBucklin
- Chen Xianjin, president, Shanghai World Expo Group
CCPIT Vice Chairman Wang Jinzhen will give the keynote address, "Sino-American Exhibition Development: the Status Quo." Panel discussions will cover topics of interest to both Asian and American industry members:
- The U.S. Exhibition Industry: Future Trends
- The Chinese Exhibition Industry: Prospects for Cooperation, Mergers and Acquisitions
- American-Asian Exhibition Cooperation: What are the Opportunities?
