Global Update: Intertraffic Goes to Beijing

News about show launches and date changes continues to pour in, from locations as diverse as Bahrain and China.

  • Messe Muenchen's July 8–10 Munich Fashion Fair Men, the July 10–11 debut of Jeans Affair Munich and the July 8–10 ispo Sport & Style will be collocated at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. All three shows are for sports, fashion and lifestyle buyers. This is the first year Munich Fashion Fair Men will take place at Messe Muenchen. The show, held in various locations over the past five years, will have a separate entrance on the northern concourse.
  • Materials Science & Engineering will debut Sept. 10–13 at Congress-Center Nuernberg. The German Society for Materials Science will sponsor MSE, organized by MAT•INFO. Both the society and organizer are based in Frankfurt. The event will be held in conjunction with the Euromat 2007 congress on advanced materials and processes. Next year in Nuernberg, MSE will feature an international congress of its own focused on materials science research and applications.
  • Fira de Barcelona will launch BCN Rail, an international railway industry show, Oct. 2–5 in Fira Barcelona's Gran Via. It will be the first show organized in Spain and dedicated to the railway sector.
  • The debut of Rimini Fiera and Connessioni magazine's SIB Forum will take place Oct. 18–20 at Rimini Fiera. The planned annual event will complement, but be independent of, the biennial SIB Intl. Exhibition of Show, Installation and Broadcast Technology, next scheduled April 5–8, 2008, also at Rimini Fiera. The new show will address installations and system integration for architects, electrical designers, installers, designers and system integrators.
  • Exponor Feira Internacional do Porto's Concreta Intl. Exhibition for the Construction Industry will change from an annual to a biennial event beginning with its Oct. 23–27 edition at Exponor in Porto, Portugal.
  • The textile fair Source It, an ASEAN event, will take place Oct. 29–Nov. 1 in the Shanghai New Intl. Expo Centre, collocated with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. Source It was originally planned to run Oct. 3–5 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre with Interstoff Asia Essential. Messe Frankfurt produces all three shows.
  • Premiere Vision, organizers of Paris fabric show Premiere Vision, will launch Denim by Premiere Vision Dec. 4–5 at the Docks of Paris. The new show, which may become a semiannual event held in June and December, will target jeans makers and feature manufacturers of denim and outfitters, and accessories suppliers. Show management said that the existing Premiere Vision show would also continue to offer denim products.
  • Messe Essen and the Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority will launch the Bahrain Motor Show 2008 April 24–27 in Manama, Bahrain's capital. The trade-consumer show is expected to span about 17,000 square meters (183,000 square feet) of exhibit space, following the model of the Essen Motor Show. It will take place concurrent with Bahrain's Formula 1 Grand Prix race.
  • Two Messe Frankfurt consumer-goods fairs, Tendence Lifestyle and Collectione Preview Spring + Summer, will collocate July 4–8, 2008, in Frankfurt. Collectione will retain its name, but Tendence Lifestyle will switch to Tendence Autumn + Winter. Exhibitors will display jewelry, furniture and home, kitchen and cooking products. There will also be a gourmet event, Taste it!, aimed at the specialist trade and consumers with an interest in cooking.
  • Nuernberg Global Fairs' Water Middle East, an international exhibition and conference for water technology, is moving from Manama, Bahrain, to Doha, Qatar. It takes place Oct. 27–29, 2008.
  • The Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority and BIC Aerospace will launch an event for high-end aircraft, boat and vehicle interiors, Bahrain VIP Interior Meetings, Nov. 11–13, 2008, in Manama, Bahrain's capital.
  • U.K.- and Dubai-based Fairs and Exhibitions and Aviation Week will debut the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Middle East Conference and Exhibition for the aviation industry at the Airport Expo Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in February 2009.
