The Society of Petroleum Engineers' Offshore Technology Conference, held April 30–May 3 at Houston's Reliant Center, attracted 67,155 attendees, a 25-year high and a 13-percent increase over the 59,236 attendees in 2006. OTC's exhibition expanded for the first time into the adjacent Reliant Stadium and added more outdoor exhibit space. Nearly 2,400 companies from more than 30 countries participated.
The June 12–16 staging of Messe Duesseldorf's four quadrennial technology trade fairs — foundry show GIFA 2007, metallurgical show Metec 2007, thermoprocess technology show ThermProcess 2007 and castings show Newcast 2007 — attracted more than 77,000 trade visitors and 1,700 exhibitors to Duesseldorf, Germany. That was a 7-percent increase compared with the 71,500 visitors and 1,661 exhibitors in 2003.
