The international lighting industry gathered June 8–11 for Messe Frankfurt's Guangzhou Intl. Lighting Exhibition at the Guangzhou (China) Intl. Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event attracted 45,017 visitors from 98 countries, an 8-percent improvement over the 41,697 in 2006. This year's event had 1,229 exhibitors in 82,000 square meters (882,600 square feet) of floor space.
Merchandise Mart Properties' 39th annual NeoCon World's Trade Fair for interior design and facilities management, held June 11–13 at The Merchandise Mart Chicago, set attendance records and sold out the facility's entire exhibition space. The more than 1,200 exhibitors from the commercial furnishings industry attracted 52,632 attendees, a 5-percent improvement compared with the 50,000 attendees in 2006.
