Michael Marchesano, a media industry veteran and former top executive at The Nielsen Company, recently became managing director of media investment firm Jordan Edmiston Group Inc.
“It is a great thrill for me to join the media and information industries' leading and most active investment bank,” Marchesano said. “Over the years, I have watched JEGI's reputation grow and its deal volume increase.”
In his new role, Marchesano will focus on JEGI's mergers and acquisitions advisory practice for the business information services sector.
“We are very pleased that Mike will be joining our team of seasoned investment banking professionals,” said Wilma Jordan, CEO and founder of JEGI. “His wealth of knowledge and deep domain experience in the business information services sector will bring significant value to JEGI's (business-to-business) client base.”
Marchesano was named president and CEO of VNU Business Media USA, now Nielsen Business Media, in 2001. In June 2006, Marchesano was promoted to the new position of chief transformation officer and executive vice president following the acquisition of VNU for $11 billion by Valcon Acquisitions. The late Robert Krakoff succeeded Marchesano as president and CEO at VNU.
Before joining VNU in 1999 as president of Bill Communications, Marchesano was president and CEO of BPA Intl., the primary world auditor of business publications and provider of audited data to marketing professionals.
“I very much look forward to helping the firm expand its footprint in the vibrant business information services sector, which offers its customers a growing number of must-have products and services,” Marchesano said.
