Preliminary attendance numbers for the Assn. of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers' July 18–21 AWFS Vegas were down 5 percent, with 18,987 in 2007, compared with 19,923 in 2005. Organizers of the biennial event said the base of potential buyers actually grew, however. The fastest-growing segment for the last decade, cabinet manufacturers, continued to expand, up 8 percent compared with 2005.
Messe Duesseldorf reported that the 14th staging of its Hospitalar attracted 76,000 trade visitors June 12–15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. That was a 9-percent increase over last year's event, which attracted about 70,000 attendees. The international show for products, equipment, services and technology for hospitals, health clinics and laboratories took place concurrently with the OdontoBrasil international dentistry fair.
