Christian to Leave NTP by Year's End
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/27/2007
Natl. Trade Productions CEO Tamara Christian will resign her post at the end of the year.
"I'm at a point of really wanting to try something else and do something else," she said, adding her goal is to pursue a career outside the tradeshow industry, perhaps in philanthropy.
Christian, who has been with the Alexandria, Va.-based company for 15 years, started there as an intern and worked her way up through the marketing department, holding various positions, including president, before being named CEO less than a year ago.
"It's been 15 great years with Tamara, and she has taken NTP to new heights," said Robert Harar, chairman of NTP. "Now, Tamara has a desire to apply her leadership skills to a new industry. I'm very excited for her and consider any company that she leads to be lucky."
Christian said she and Harar discussed her desire to leave the industry in June and agreed she would stay through the end of the year. She'll start looking for a new position in a few months, she added.
Jennifer Hoff, general manager and vice president of operations, will be promoted to COO and oversee human resources, finance, IT, administration and operations. Glenn Feder will continue as president of the client events division, and Paige Cardwell will remain president of the creative solutions group.
Controller Karin Marty Fendrich also is leaving the company, phasing out of her current position — while remaining in a consulting role — to work in her family's business.
Connie Whitaker, a former vice president of accounting with the Mills Group, will start as controller at the end of August.
