The National Business Travel Assn.'s 2007 Intl. Convention & Exposition in Boston July 22–25 drew the largest attendance in its 39-year history: more than 6,200 attendees, compared with nearly 5,500 attendees in 2006. The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau said the convention and tradeshow generated $13.6 million in spending impact and more than $425 million in future corporate bookings.

The ninth annual ASI Show Chicago, held July 10–12 at McCormick Place, attracted a record-setting attendance of 4,834 distributors (representing 1,790 companies). The 2006 show attracted 4,404. Turnout from large distributors was particularly significant and, in total, distributors on the showfloor represented $7.2 billion in industry sales, according to show management.
