Michael Hart -- Tradeshow Week, 9/10/2007

John Cychol was named vice president of meeting sales at the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau. He was previously assistant executive director of sales for the Irving (Texas) Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission hired Sue Hagin as corporate meetings sales manager.

Meeting Professionals Intl. appointed Gerrit Jessen president of its European Council, the regional representative body of MPI's members in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Jessen succeeded Sebastien Tondeur.

Exhibitgroup/Giltspur named Jay Jones regional vice president of the Western division.

The Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla., named Johann Krieger vice president and hotel manager.

Yellow Transportation hired Michael T. Lamoreaux for the newly created position of senior director of exhibit services.

The Cobb County (Ga.) Convention & Visitors Bureau named Leslie McGregor director of tradeshow sales.

D.T. Minich was named executive director of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater (Fla.) Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. He was previously executive director of the Lee County (Fla.) Visitors and Convention Bureau.

I&D and exhibition management firm Beyond Exhibit Logistics promoted Eric Nitsche to general manager. He is based in the Orlando office.

Global Spectrum named Paul O'Beirn director of sales for the Penticton (British Columbia) Trade & Convention Centre.

The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau appointed Karen Riha-Johnston director of association sales. The bureau promoted Meghan Brennan from manager of corporate sales and Navy Pier specialist to director of corporate sales and Navy Pier specialist; Eric Draper from research analyst to research manager; and Missey Garcia-Smith from Eastern regional sales manager to director of Washington, D.C., regional sales.

Ziff Davis Media tapped Jason Young as CEO. Young, previously president of Ziff Davis' Consumer/Small Business Group, succeeded Bob Callahan, who remains chairman of the company.
