The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau named JoAnn Bedrosian-Ryan senior director of sales for the central region. She was formerly manager of strategic accounts for United Airlines.
Emily Burger, a student at Columbia College Chicago, received the 2007 Roger D. LaForte Scholarship. In addition to a cash scholarship, Burger won the opportunity for an internship at the recent Trade Show Exhibitors Assn.-sponsored annual conference and exhibition, TS2 — The Industry Event for Exhibit and Event Professionals in Washington, DC.
The Trade Exhibition Assn. of Thailand appointed Patrapee Chinachoti president. He is managing director of Tele-Dynamic, a telecommunications importer-exporter for Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau hired KC Flores as a convention services manager. Additionally, Monique Lucero was named convention and visitor services coordinator and Bonnie Miller national sales manager.
Questex Media Group hired Claudia Flowers as executive vice president of corporate development, responsible for acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. She will be based in the New York office. Flowers was previously executive vice president of American Business Media.
Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando named Venessa Grant and Jill Sandersto the corporate sales team. They will be responsible for driving new business and brand awareness for the company's three Orlando convention properties. Rosen Shingle Creek also hired three conference sales managers: Kristine Erickson, Jennifer Lane and Molly Rock.
The TSEA named new members to its board of directors: Karen Jensen, senior marketing manager for Leggett & Platt Storage Products Group; Kerry Talbot, director of tradeshow and event marketing at Monster.com; Patricia Sanders, director of marketing communications at BAE Systems; and Karen Formico, manager of marketing services for Broan-Nutone.
