Reed Exhibitions Realigns Management

By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 11/12/2007

Nancy Walsh, a former senior vice president at Reed Exhibitions Americas, has been promoted to executive vice president with responsibility for all the company's trade and consumer shows in North America.

Her promotion is part of a recent restructuring of Reed Exhibitions Americas' senior management team in response to growth in the company.

“Our business today is significantly different than it was just a few years ago,” said Chet Burchett, president of Reed Exhibitions Americas, in a statement. “In fact, nearly a third of the revenue we will see in 2008 is from events and businesses that did not exist at Reed two years ago.”

Walsh will continue to report to Burchett.

The company also promoted both Greg Topalian and Dean Russo, previously group vice presidents, to senior vice president. Topalian will add Reed's spa events and the Canadian business to his portfolio. Now, Russo also will be responsible for the management of the Natl. Hardware Show and Lawn & Garden World. Topalian and Russo report to Walsh.

Senior Vice President Dennis MacDonald also has several new events in his portfolio: Global Gaming Expo, BookExpo America and Intl. Vision Expo East and West .

Reed Exhibitions Americas also made a number of other promotions:

  • Lance Fensterman to industry vice president for New York ComicCon and New York Anime Fest, reporting to Topalian. Fensterman also has show management responsibility for BookExpo America, reporting to Group Vice President Courtney Muller
  • Ed Nichols to industry vice president, taking responsibility for Intl. Security Conference East and West , and maintaining management responsibility for EMS and buildings. He reports to Russo.
  • Eileen Baird to vice president for North American education, focusing on continued development and growth of the conference businesses in that sector. She reports to MacDonald.
  • Kevin Richards to vice president of international brand development for INTERPHEX. He will focus on global growth of INTERPHEX in India, China, Mexico and other markets. INTERPHEX Puerto Rico , which Richards manages, recently was named the fastest-growing tradeshow at the recent TSW Fastest 50 event in Atlanta. Richards will report to Vinnie Polito, senior vice president for life science and health care.
