Broadband + NXTcomm
-- Tradeshow Week, 1/14/2008
CMP Technology will collocate its Broadband Wireless World with the Telecommunications Industry Assn.'s and USTelecom Assn.'s NXTcomm June 16-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The 2007 Broadband Wireless World was held May 22-24 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
It is the second collocation with this year's edition of NXTcomm. Last May, TIA and USTelecom announced that InfoComm Intl., for the audiovisual and information communications industry, would also collocate with NXTcomm in even-numbered years.
According to NXTcomm Executive Director Wayne Crawford, the Broadband Wireless collocation makes sense because NXTcomm is a major destination for service providers and enterprise customers looking for technology partners. He said attendees want to learn about converged communications, and the collocation helps NXTcomm achieve this goal by showcasing the future of mobile broadband networks.
Joseph Braue, group director and senior vice president of CMP's Light Reading, which manages Broadband Wireless World, said it has a 10-year history of delivering information to such service providers as mobile operators, ISPs, wireline carriers, utilities and municipalities – and NXTcomm is the biggest service provider show where all those groups converge.
Neil Gaffney, NXTcomm senior manager for communications and public relations, said the collocation would mean an additional 30 to 40 exhibiting companies and 6,000 to 7,000 net square feet.
Organizers expect this year's NXTcomm to occupy about 225,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space with 450 exhibiting companies and attract 20,000 attendees. NXTcomm rotates between Chicago and Las Vegas.
