Freeman promoted Nelson Aveleno to vice president of exposition services sales for its national sales group. Aveleno joined Freeman in 1999 as director of sales for the western region of the executive sales group. In his new role, he will remain in Anaheim.
Guy Bagg was named director of group sales for the mid-Atlantic region at Preferred Hotel Group. He was previously with Hershey Resorts.
Chris Barlow, former chief executive of Melbourne Airport in Australia, accepted the position of chairman of the board of the Melbourne Convention & Visitors Bureau. He succeeded Janine Kirk, lead partner in the Victorian government practice of Ernst & Young.

Bales, responsible for sales in the Midwest; Peter Cronin and Cindy Becker Meyerer, Southeast; Christine Faiman mid-Atlantic; Gary Onorio, mid-Atlantic region with a focus on northern Virginia associations; and Lynn Pescherine, West Coast.
ExpoTV, a provider of consumer-generated video product reviews, named David Becker chief marketing officer.
Rachel Benedick was promoted to associate vice president of convention sales for the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The Georgia World Congress Center hired Karen Boatright as national sales manager. Boatright was with Delta Air Lines for 30 years.

MGM Mirage Hospitality named Stuart Fearnley executive vice president of development for design and construction. The company promoted Tobias Mattstedt to senior vice president of development and operations, and David Van Kalsbeek to executive vice president of sales and marketing
Capstone-Showplace named Marion Kelly vice president of real estate in High Point, N.C. The firm manages Showplace, Showplace West and Hamilton Properties at the High Point Market.
