It’s Smart to Expand

Smart City has a new home. The convention telecommunications provider has relocated and consolidated its local operations into a new, 14,000 square foot building.
The space, in the Beltway Business Park near Interstate 215 and Jones Boulevard, is also the new headquarters of Priority Networks, which merged with Smart City in August 2006. The new office houses corporate and network operations, accounting, customer sales and service, and the executive team.
Gathering all business units into a single, larger space was an important part of the company’s strategy, according to Smart City President and CEO Paul Ashley. “The larger space means that all of our operations staff is under one roof, which allows us to solve problems faster and be even more responsive to clients,” he said.
Ashley added that the company has experienced “an incredible amount of growth” over the past two years, and that a new and larger office was essential to accommodate the increase in business.
Despite a softening economic climate, and in keeping with other sectors of the Las Vegas convention industry, Smart City is staying busy. Ashley claimed the company remains unfazed by the prospect of a recession.
“We are not concerned (about the economy) at this time,” he said. “We continue to monitor our sites and remain ready to access our strategies to continue the growth of our business.”
Smart City provides telecom and Internet service to about 60 convention centers nationwide.
