UFI, the Global Assn. of the Exhibition Industry, named Rowena Arzt director of business development. She replaced Briac LeMouel who died suddenly last October. Director of Administration Sonia Thomas was promoted to director of operations.
StarCite President and CEO Michael Boult resigned. COO Keith Forshew will head the company on an interim basis. Boult will remain a member of the StarCite board of directors.
Exhibit designer Photosound appointed Kyle Davids business development manager.
Shepard Exposition Services appointed Joe Flinn general manager of its Baltimore office and Kerwin Johnson sales manager of its office in Anaheim.
The Natl. Assn. of Television Program Executives named Wayneston Harbeson director of operations. He will manage all logistical aspects of the NATPE Conference and Exhibition. Harbeson was formerly senior convention services manager for the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Pinnacle Exhibits promoted Brad Hogan from COO to president.
The Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) Convention Centre promoted Adam Mather-Brown from director of operations to deputy general manager and Chen Soo Yoong from asset manager to director of facilities.
Hanley Wood Exhibitions promoted Rick McConnell to senior vice president and Shawn Pierce to vice president of operations.
Nancy Murphy was named director of venues, housing and travel for Advanstar Communications. She was previously head of sales at the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority.
William Shannon was named director of public safety at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.
