TSW MedShow Report Takes Off

Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 4/1/2008 11:38:00 AM

Welcome to the inaugural issue of TSW MedShow Report, a biweekly e-newsletter focusing on tradeshows and meetings in the health care sector.

As most readers receiving this for the first time know, the health care-related tradeshow sector is one of the fastest-growing in the industry. And, according to Tradeshow Week research, in 2001, 13 health care-related shows were on the TSW 200; by 2006, the number had grown to 21.

That fact in itself doesn’t tell the whole story either as the sector is loaded with thousands of quite successful events in which the quality of content is far more important than the size of the showfloor.

In this issue you will find:

• a report on for-profit show management firms on the fast track to launch, acquire and collocate multiple health care shows

• a story about the latest development in plans for a new medical mart and convention center in Cleveland that is expected to attract new health care meetings to the city

• an interview with one of the most successful show managers in the field, Karen Malone of the HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

We believe this issue is a good example of the mix of news you can expect every two weeks from TSW Medshow Report.
