ASAE Hosts Women Leaders' Event

-- Tradeshow Week, 4/14/2008

ASAE & The Center for Assn. Leadership will hold its first Women's Leadership Symposium April 16-18 at the Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C. The event, targeting female CEOs and business leaders, will include panel discussions and forums on such topics as the state of association management for women, finance and ascending the leadership ladder.

“It is crucial for us to cultivate leadership initiatives among women in associations and nonprofits,” said Jakub M. Konysz, public relations manager for ASAE & The Center.

Around 100 participants are expected. Participants will engage with other women leaders and have the opportunity to network.

ASAE & The Center recognizes the importance of cultivating female leaders in the association ranks, added Susan Sarfati, president and CEO of the Center for Assn. Leadership and executive vice president of ASAE. Women are breaking through the glass ceiling and becoming senior executives at organizations and businesses around the country, she said.
