Orlando Launches New Campaign

-- Tradeshow Week, 4/14/2008

Orlando wants to know: Are you creative?

In May, the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau will debut the tagline, “Orlando, Where Creative Minds Meet,” designed to lure meeting planners from across the country.

Gary Sain, president and CEO of the CVB announced the new campaign during a recent quarterly luncheon with bureau members and encouraged them to incorporate it into their businesses.

“As more cities expand their meetings business, Orlando cannot rest on its laurels,” Sain said. “The one thing Orlando can deliver better than any other destination is creativity.”

Orlando will show the new campaign to prospective clients during the Meeting Planners' Creative Workshops, events that will include classes led by Gerald Haman, founder of SolutionPeople, an innovation and creativity firm. The workshops are scheduled June 10 in Washington, D.C., June 12 in Chicago, and June 17 in New York City.

“This could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in future bookings for our great destination,” Sain added.
