OutDoor Sticks With Friedrichshafen

The latest international exhibition news includes new shows, postponements and changes to existing shows from Europe to the Middle East and beyond.

The debut of Messe Essen's Bahrain Intl. Motor Show moved from April 24–27 to Oct. 4–7 at the Bahrain Intl. Exhibition & Convention Center in Manama, Bahrain. Messe Essen also produces the Essen Motor Show in Germany.

The first Intl. Wedding Exhibition and Fashion Show, to be held May 4–7 at the Qatar Intl. Exhibition Centre in Doha, Qatar, will be produced by Qatar Expo. Show officials estimate 10,000 attendees and more than 100 exhibitors from 15 countries will participate in the launch of the wedding exhibition in Doha.

The SRR Recycling and Recovery Tradeshow will debut June 10–13 in conjunction with Tem Tecma '08, a town planning and environment exhibition, at Fiera de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. Both shows are organized by Ifema.

The fashion show Link.it will debut June 19–22 in Bologna, Italy, with an anticipated 100 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors. Link.fr in Paris will be held in September. Both shows will be organized by Massimiliano Bizzi, founder of the Milan-based fashion tradeshow White, held at Bologna Fiere, and the Paris women's wear show Pret-a-Porter. The events will feature men's and women's high-level ready-to-wear clothes and accessories.

The ZAO Expocentr in Moscow will host the Shop Design Russia 2008 tradeshow for shop fitting, lighting technology and retail marketing Sept. 10–13. The event, jointly organized by Messe Duesseldorf, Messe Duesseldorf Moscow and Expo-Park Exhibition Projects, will collocate for the first time with the fashion tradeshow CPM.

This year's Creaktiv hobby fair at the Messezentrum in Zurich, Switzerland, organized by Ornaris in Bern, was moved from Oct. 16–19 to Feb. 5–8.

ZAO Expocentr Moscow canceled its Customs Service exhibition of customs services, scheduled Oct. 25–27, and its Traffic Safety Forum exhibition of traffic control and safety facilities, scheduled October 2009.

BSEC 2008 will debut Nov. 6–8 at the India Expo Centre XXI in New Delhi. Informa, in association with the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, will organize what a spokesperson said will be India's first large-scale exhibition focused on border and homeland defense and security. The three-day exhibition will collocate with other defense and national security events, including the two-day BSEC Conference and the Defence and National Security Leadership Summit.

Messe Frankfurt postponed its biennial Material Vision design and architecture show from Nov. 13–14 to June 16–18, 2009.

Hamburg Messe bought the rights to the triennial Acqua Alta tradeshow and congress for flood prevention, climate change and disaster management. The event was launched in Munich in 2003 and held in Hamburg in 2006. Originally scheduled Nov. 26–28, it will now be staged Nov. 10–12, 2009, at the CCH-Congress Center Hamburg with a wider focus on water management and disaster management.

Beginning in 2009, the Premier Kids show for children's clothes, footwear, accessories and maternity wear will collocate Feb. 1–3 with the Spring Fair at the Natl. Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. London-based emap, organizer of both events, said buyers will profit from the strong synergies and additional opportunities the shows will provide.

Messe Muenchen's Munich Intl. Trade Fairs will spin off its Analytica tradeshow for analysis, biotechnology, diagnostics, laboratory technology and services to Hanoi, Vietnam. Analytica Vietnam will debut March 18–20 at the Hanoi Intl. Center for Exhibition. Analytica's other editions are held in Munich, Germany; Beijing; and New Delhi.

The Vitawell pharma, health and beauty tradeshow, previously held in Bern, Switzerland, will take place at two new venues in the next two years. The Galenica Group contracted with MCH Swiss Exhibition to move the show to the Zurich (Switzerland) Exhibition Center Sept. 13–15, 2009. In 2010, it will be held March 28–29 at the Centre de Congres et d'Expositions de Beaulieu in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Delegates to the Bureau des Expositions general assembly in Paris chose Milan, Italy, to host the Expo 2015 world exhibition. Milan beat out Izmir, Turkey, as host city. Expo 2015 will take place May 1–Oct. 31, 2015.
