New this year: Graphic Novel Day with a breakfast panel featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and “Heroes” producer Jeph Loeb, evidence that the graphic novel has finally arrived.
The bottom line: Well … HarperCollins plans to break the news to its booksellers during BookExpo that it's eliminating its traditional paper catalogue. From now on, the list of print editions of the books it has to offer will only be available … online. HarperCollins President Jane Friedman has promised to be gentle. Penguin and Random House already took the leap.
