Atlanta Flower Show Moves On
-- Tradeshow Week, 5/26/2008
In 2009, the Southeastern Flower Show, previously held at the Georgia World Congress Center, will move to another Atlanta venue, the Cobb Galleria Centre Jan. 28-Feb. 1.
“The move signifies an exciting new chapter in the 22-year history of the Southeastern Flower Show,” said Robert Balentine, board chairman of the Southeastern Horticultural Society, which produces the show. “The Cobb Galleria Centre is truly a state-of-the-art facility, and its prime location and accessibility make it a premier venue for our visitors and exhibitors who live not only in Atlanta, but across the Southeast and beyond.”
One reason for the switch to Cobb Galleria, according to show organizers, was an audience exit poll finding from previous years that indicated free parking was a high priority for attendees. “Our move to the Cobb Galleria Centre will allow us to provide (free parking) to the attendees and exhibitors for the first time in several years,” said Chuck Henry, director of show design for the Flower Show.
The Southeastern Horticultural Society was formed in January of this year as a non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting the “knowledge, art and enjoyment of horticulture throughout the southeastern U.S.,” according to society officials.
