BDMetrics Helps NAB Go Year-round

The Natl. Assn. of Broadcasters is the latest show organizer to offer attendees and exhibitors the chance to experience its show, NAB, every day of the year.
NAB365, an online BDMetrics product that will provide year-round information on the show, is free to Web visitors and buyers. Supplier directory listings also are free and NAB offers an upgraded package to allow suppliers greater interaction and online exposure.
“We will continually add content and update as we get a better understanding of our buyers' (and) visitors' needs online,” said Brad Williams, NAB vice president of member benefits and business development, conventions and business operations.
According to the association, NAB365 features an intuitive search engine that will help users find relevant information in order to make better and more informed equipment, software and service purchases.
Providing a user-friendly platform for clients and attendees to continue interacting throughout the year was a logical step, said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president of conventions and business operations.
For the content and electronic media professionals who make up the “broader-casting” community, he added, NAB365 will serve as a valuable resource, connecting buyers and sellers throughout the year.
In addition to product information, the Web site will feature daily news, research content, audio and video content, and a career search center, as well as NAB365 TV, which will give companies a platform to announce new products and distribute company news globally via Internet video.
BDMetrics CEO Rick Geritz said his firm has created similar platforms in various forms for 53 other tradeshows, including Pack Expo Intl.
“This service isn't a virtual tradeshow, but an extension of the show,” Geritz said. “It provides a framework to complement the show.”
