Passing the TSW Las Vegas Torch

After nearly eight years with Tradeshow Week, Heidi Kyser-Genoist is leaving the tradeshow industry for the world of tea. TSW Senior Editor Rachel Wimberly will take the reins at TSW Las Vegas. 

Kyser-Genoist joined TSW as an associate editor in October 2000 and worked her way up to senior editor, the position she held until leaving in May 2008. During that time, she won an APEX Award for editorial excellence for a 2001 story on how the Sept. 11 attacks affected air travel in the tradeshow industry. 

In 2004, she moved to Las Vegas and established TSW Las Vegas, Tradeshow Week’s first local e-newsletter. She became steeped in the local industry, speaking regularly to groups, appearing on radio programs and briefing reporters from around the country on the city’s tradeshow business.

Kyser-Genoist has left TSW to become editor of World Tea News, a new digital business-to-business publication for the specialty tea business. It was launched May 30 by SFG Group, owners and producers of World Tea Expo. In her new position, she oversees all editorial content for the World Tea News Web site, e-newsletters, directories and publications to be developed in the future.

“I am very grateful to have the chance to oversee a new publication for such an interesting industry, and it was my eight years at Tradeshow Week that equipped me to do this,” Kyser-Genoist said. “I’m particularly indebted to Michael Hart for mentoring me the last five years, but I’ll miss the whole team at TSW.”
