The global exhibition industry news includes moves by shows from Poland to Bahrain and Australia to Germany, including Reed Midem's decision to drop the proposed launch of its new entertainment industry exhibition in Hong Kong.
The Coal-Gen Europe 2008 conference and exhibition for the coal-fired power generation industry will debut July 1-3 at the Warsaw Intl. Expocentre in Warsaw, Poland. The show, owned and organized by PennWell, is a sister event of the Coal-Gen Conference and Exhibition, which is scheduled Aug. 13-15 at the Kentucky Intl. Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.
The Privilege Summer Fair for luxury and lifestyle brands will launch July 19-20 in Mallorca, Spain. More than 30 exhibitors are expected to span about 1,700 square meters (18,300 square feet) of exhibition space at the Blau Porto Petro Beach Resort & Spa. Organizers maxime mallorca and Blau Porto Petro also will feature the fashion show Moda Mallorca 2008.
The first Indian Property Show will be held Aug. 23-24 in Sydney, Australia's Sunnybrook Convention Centre and Aug. 27-28 in Melbourne, Australia's Camberwell Centre. Exhibitors will be Indian developers interested in marketing properties in India to Indians who live in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for investment, retirement or personal use. The shows are being organized by the India Trade Centre and supported by the Indian Department of Tourism.
Nuernberg Global Fairs, the international exhibition subsidiary of Nuernberg Messe, will co-organize Natural Expo Sept. 24-26 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center with the All Japan Health & Natural Food Assn. and collocate it with its Bio Fach Japan. For the previous 10 years, the All Japan Health & Natural Food Assn. organized Natural Expo by itself and collocated it with Bio Fach Japan for the past five years.
Biotechnica 2008 in Hannover, Germany, will provide a separate platform for pharmaceutical biotechnology titled “Science to Market,” to be hosted by the European Assn. of Pharma Biotechnology. Biotechnica 2008 will take place Oct. 7-8 in the convention center at Hannover Fairgrounds.
Reed Midem canceled its planned Amazia 2008. The Asia-based entertainment content market and conference was to have launched Nov. 17-20 in Hong Kong. Reed Midem said a number of television companies vital to the show's success expressed reluctance about attending Amazia and other television events in Asia at that time of year.
Munich Trade Fairs Intl. will partner with IPC, the Assn. of Connecting Electronics Industries, to launch an exhibition section for the electronics assembly industry at Electronica & Productronica China March 17-19 at the Shanghai New Intl. Expo Center. The show will be similar to IPC's IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX and the Designer's Summit scheduled March 31-April 2 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
An edition of Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien's Power Days electrical engineering tradeshow will take place March 18-20 in Salzburg, Austria, as well as March 31-April 2 in Vienna. Reed Exhibitions officials said they added the show to attract more attendees from western and southern Austria. The shows also will be extended from two to three days. Power Days will be held in the Messezentrum Salzburg and in the Messezentrum Wien (Vienna Exhibition Centre).
For the first time, Centrexpo's Ipack-Ima, for processing and packaging technology, will be collocated with its Converflex and Grafitalia March 24-28 at Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy. Milan-based Promoplast's Plast, an international exhibition for plastics and rubber industries, also will be staged on the same dates. Visitors will have access to all the exhibitions with a single ticket. Converflex focuses on converting technology, including paper converting and package printing.
The third edition of Reed Travel Exhibitions' Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings will take place later than originally planned, March 31-April 2, at the Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) Natl. Exhibition Centre. The 2008 show was held April 8-10. The new dates fit in with the calendar of other international tradeshows around the globe, according to Reed Exhibitions officials.
Koelnmesse will launch Wowex April 2-4 at the Cologne (Germany) Exhibition Centre, focusing on energy conservation. The show is geared to decision makers from public and private housing associations and companies, real estate agents, property managers and apartment building owners. Koelnmesse officials expect about 100 exhibitors and 4,000 attendees for the launch.
Hannover Fairs will launch the biennial Wind, a tradeshow for wind generation technology, components and services, April 20-24 at the Hannover Fairgrounds in Germany. The event will join other Hannover events for renewable and conventional power generation, conversion, storage, transmission and distribution technologies such as its Energy, Power Plant Technology, Pipeline Technology and World Energy Dialogue international congress.
