Boston Food Service Workers to Strike

Food service workers at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the John B. Hynes Memorial Convention Center in Boston will stage a three-day strike starting June 21. The about 400 workers are represented by the UNITE HERE Local 26 and have been working without a contract since October. Two shows are scheduled for the weekend, the Health & Fitness Expo, at the Hynes with 50,000 expected attendees, and the Drug Information Assn. Annual Meeting at the BCEC, with 8,500 expected attendees.
