Iraq Energy Show Scheduled

As summer arrives in much of the world, globe-spanning exhibition activity continues unabated. News from abroad involves shows in Spain, Colombia, Iraq, China, Japan, Taiwan, Portugal and India.
Inexmoda, organizer of the Colombiamoda fashion event, held July 29-31 at Plaza Mayor in Medellin, Colombia, will join FEMA Feria de Madrid in organizing Latin American Fashion at the same venue. FEMA Feria de Madrid also organizes the edition of Latino America Fashion held in Madrid.
ElectronicIndia conference and exhibition for electronic components, materials and production equipment, to be held Sept. 2-5 at the Bangalore (India) Intl. Exhibition Center, will add a printed circuit board technology component. The additional focus, which is the result of a strategic partnership between the Indian Printed Circuit Assn. and the tradeshow's organizer Messe Muenchen Intl., is expected to attract an additional 100 exhibitors to the show.
The Iraqi-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize the Iraqi Oil Ministry's first Iraq Energy Expo and Conference Oct. 17-19 at the Baghdad Intl. Airport Convention Centre. About 120 international energy companies have already received permission to exhibit from the Iraqi Oil Ministry.
Exponor in Porto, Portugal, will host the first Projecto Casa show for products, services and materials for the home Oct. 23-26. Organized in partnership with the APCMC – Portuguese Assn. of Traders of Construction Materials, the tradeshow will be open to those in the home-building business. Exhibits will include the latest trends in architecture, construction materials, lighting, kitchens, gardens, appliances, building renovation and design.
CeBIT Asia, which was launched in 2000, was collocated for the first time last year with PTC Asia and CeMAT Asia. The show has been turned into a conference focused on logistics and material flows that will take place Oct. 27-30 at the Shanghai Intl. Expo Centre, according to organizer Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany.
The first China Sourcing Fair: Hardware & Building Materials will take place Nov. 14-16 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India. Global Sources has licensed its China Sourcing Fair brand to Pico Event Management, a subsidiary of Pico Far East Holdings, and has appointed the company to manage the event.
The Intl. Furniture Fair Tokyo has been renamed IFFT/interiorlifestyle living. The show's original organizer, the Intl. Development Assn. of the Furniture Industry of Japan, will co-produce it beginning this fall with Mesago Messe Frankfurt. The event, focused on interior design products, will be collocated with the Interior Lifestyle show Nov. 19-22 at the Tokyo Intl. Exhibition Center, also known as Tokyo Big Sight. Mesago Messe Frankfurt will continue to hold Interior Lifestyle as a stand-alone event in June. That event focuses on kitchens, cooking, entertaining, furnishing and decorating, home accessories and home textiles.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council canceled the TIFS – Taipei Intl. Furniture Show. TIFS, which had been scheduled Feb. 20-23 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall, will be replaced by a new tradeshow, the 2010 Taiwan Intl. Furniture and Lighting Show, March 12-15, 2010, said Project Manager Amy Liou of the TAITRA exhibition department.
Koelnmesse will launch Wine & Gourmet Japan April 22-24 at Tokyo Big Sight, collocating it with one of the largest food tradeshows in Japan, FABEX. The new show's focus will be on premium products, including wine and spirits, fine food and beverage, hotel, restaurant and food service equipment for the Japanese market.
Survey Marketing + Consulting, Bielefeld, Germany, will move the Italian edition of its ZOW exhibition of components and accessories for the furniture industry and interior decoration from Pordenone to Verona, starting Oct. 21-24, 2009. It is scheduled to remain in Pordenone through 2013.
Messe Muenchen suspended its Expo Real Asia real estate events. The show was an offshoot of the original Expo Real in Munich, which is not affected by the decision. Expo Real Asia had been held in Shanghai, Tokyo and most recently in Macau. Unlike its international parent, it focused on regional property markets.
