Intl. Assn. of Assembly Managers Annual Conference & Trade Show
-- Tradeshow Week, 7/21/2008
Where: Anaheim Convention Center (rotates)
When: July 25-29 (annual)
Show owner: Intl. Assn. of Assembly Managers
Who exhibits: Manufacturers and distributors of products and services for public assembly facilities
Who attends: Managers and directors of convention centers, arenas, stadiums, auditoriums and public arts complexes
First year of show: 1953
Estimated size: 62,000 net sq. ft.; 350 exhibitors; 1,250 professional attendees
New this year: Well, almost new. This is the second year of the IAAM Foundation Harley Ride: A day-long motorcycle tour the first day of the meeting that winds through the deserts, beaches and mountains of Southern California with visits to Hell's Kitchen, Cook's Corner and one last stop for milk and cookies.
The bottom line: For the last several years, IAAM and the Natl. Assn. of Concessionaires have combined their tradeshows to display and demonstrate everything – edible or not – that a convention center, arena, theater or stadium manager could possibly need.
