And the SMOTY Nominees Are...

Show managers, take note – it's that special time again just for you.
The Expo Group is accepting nominations for its ninth annual Show Manager of the Year awards. The SMOTY awards recognize show managers who exemplify the field, work tirelessly to overcome obstacles and ensure the happiness of their attendees and exhibitors through quality customer service. The awards will be presented at a gala event Nov. 6 in Baltimore, the night before the start of the sixth annual Tradeshow Week Fastest 50, also in Baltimore.
The TSW Fastest 50 recognizes the fastest-growing shows in the industry.
“We need the industry's help to nominate candidates for what has become over the past nine years a coveted honor,” said Ray Pekowski, president and CEO of The Expo Group.
Managers may nominate those they feel are deserving or nominate themselves. Nominees do not need to be clients of The Expo Group. An independent panel of industry insiders will judge the candidates and determine the winners.
“We want to recognize show managers who exhibit innovative practices, premier customer service, a commitment to success and the ability to overcome obstacles regardless of the size of their show or industry affiliations,” said Pekowski.
Trophies will be awarded to managers in five categories based on show size:
- Tier I – 1 to 150 booths
- Tier II – 151 to 300 booths
- Tier III – 301 to 700 booths
- Tier IV – 701 to 1,500 booths
- Tier V – 1,501 and plus booths
The Expo Group also will make a $1,000 donation in the winner's name to the charity or educational institution of his or her choice.
