Dallas CVB Targets New Groups
-- Tradeshow Week, 7/28/2008
The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce are targeting black business and leisure travelers with a new guide.
The newly published visitors guide and Web site, www.VisitBlackDallas.com, promotes accommodations, dining and shopping that is of particular interest to those travelers, according to CVB officials.
“Dallas celebrates its diversity, and the African-American experience is woven throughout the city's performing, visual and culinary arts, religions, architecture, customs and politics,” said Phillip Jones, Dallas CVB's president and CEO. “As a result, Black Enterprise (magazine) named Dallas as a leading destination, and we take great pride that the city is among the top choices nationally for meetings, conventions, reunions and leisure visits. The new visitors guide and Web site will greatly enhance our efforts.”
The new Web site links potential visitors with additional comprehensive lists at the bureau's main Web site, www.VisitDallas.com. Highlights in the guide include The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Brooklyn Jazz Cafe and South Dallas Cultural Center.
