• The BC Pavilion Corp. appointed Ken Cretney general manager of the Vancouver (British Columbia) Convention & Exhibition Centre, effective Oct. 1.
• Shaner Hotel Group named Joseph Duperre general manager of the Chattanooga (Tenn.) Marriott at the Convention Center.
•Jim Forlenza was named interim executive director of the newly branded Supercomm show, previously called NXTcomm, following the resignation of Wayne Crawford as executive director.
•Michael Gardner resigned as CEO of Staging Connections Group and COO Ben Ashton assumed the role of acting CEO of the Australian company until a permanent appointment is made.
•Kimberly Hardcastle-Geddes was appointed vice president of Marketing Design Group.
•Robert Hensler was appointed chairman of the board of directors of Switzerland's Geneva Palexpo.
• The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau appointed Tracy Barrett Janosko director of Washington, D.C., regional sales.
• George P. Johnson named Kenny Lauer director of digital technologies.
• CEMA, the Corporate Event Marketing Assn., named Ric Peeler, director of corporate event marketing for Intel, board president for the next two years, and Amanda Litzow, vice president of global events for SAP, vice president. Other newly appointed board officers are Lesley Brasesco, Hilton Sales Worldwide, as treasurer, and Patty Brown, Tata Consultancy Services, as secretary. David Hunt, Symantec; Becky Kavanaugh, RSA; and Gordon Stake, Jack Morton Worldwide, were named to two-year terms on the board.
• BDMetrics announced that Mollie Spilman joined the company as president. She also was elected to the company's board of directors.
