TSW Association Show Launches
Stephanie Corbin -- Tradeshow Week, 10/7/2008 12:44:00 PM
Welcome to the inaugural issue of TSW Association Show, a biweekly e-newsletter focusing on tradeshows and meetings in the association sector.
It’s no surprise to any of our readers that tradeshows owned by associations – or sponsored by them – are a huge segment of the industry. According to Tradeshow Week research, 89 shows on the most recent TSW 200 were owned by associations.
And with association shows come a whole different set of needs that are different from for-profit shows: The shows are there to serve different industry segments with education sessions, to provide new technology for the markets, to build a community and put all those different pieces together in one place.
In this issue are a few of the types of regular features you can expect biweekly:
• an interview with the head of the association for associations: John H. Graham IV, president and CEO of the American Society of Assn. Executives & The Center for Assn. Leadership
• a story about SmithBucklin, the largest association management company, acquiring St. Paul, Minn.-based Amedco, which provides associations and organizations with certification and accreditation services for educational programs
• a schedule of upcoming association shows
We believe this is an example of the news you can expect every two weeks in TSW Association Show.
