MGM Mirage has made a few recent changes of the guard:
After 13 years with the company, MGM Mirage Chairman and CEO Terri Lani will retire from his executive positions, effective Nov. 30. He will continue as a member of the board of directors and will join the diversity committee. Lani joined MGM Grand in June 1995 as president, CEO and member of the board of directors. In July 1995, he was named to his current position. Lani guided MGM Mirage through unprecedented growth, including mergers with Mirage Resorts in 2000 and Mandalay Resort Group in 2005.
Jim Murren has been elected chairman and CEO of MGM Mirage, effective Dec. 1. In his 10-year career with the company, Murren has served in several executive positions, most recently as president and COO since 2007. Murren joined MGM Grand in 1998 as executive vice president, and was named company president and CFO in 1999, prior to the company’s buyout of Mirage Resorts. Before joining MGM Grand, Murren spent 14 years on Wall Street as an equity analyst and also as a managing director at Deutsche Bank. Murren is a member of the MGM Mirage board of directors and its executive committee.
Tradeshow industry 14-year veteran Phillip McKay has joined World Market Center as senior vice president. In this newly-created position, McKay will be responsible for leasing to gift, lighting, rugs and decorative accessories segments and launching new categories, as well as overseeing the development of future and existing tradeshow events. Most recently, McKay was president and CEO of PPM Media, a tradeshow production company he founded. Prior to that, McKay worked with several tradeshow companies, including Gartner Vision Events, Penton Media and Key3Media.
Kristi Tassone has joined full-service tradeshow labor and management company On Location in the role of new business development. She will be responsible for developing new business and servicing national clients. A 10-year tradeshow industry veteran, Tassone previously has worked in business development for labor services, exhibits and furniture rentals, as well as in real estate.
