A few Strip resorts have made some technological advancements and additions to their properties:
• Aria Resort & Casino, the centerpiece of CityCenter, chose Creston Electronics to control the lighting, audio and video systems in the convention center. The resort’s three-level, 300,000 square foot convention space, which is scheduled to open in December next year, will feature an advanced, integrated technology created to simplify control and efficiently monitor and manage systems on a single platform. Features include control systems to manage lighting and audiovisual throughout common areas and meeting spaces from one-touch panels and RoomView Server Edition building management software to enable central and global monitoring, management and control of all devices and subsystems throughout the facility. Aria’s 74 meeting spaces will include 30 ballrooms, 36 meetings rooms, two boardrooms and six training rooms.
• Nortel, a communications technology company, recently installed its unified communications networks in the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino. For use by both staff and guests, the system includes a sophisticated contact center that provides guests easy access to services, including phone messaging with personalized greetings and customizable handling and forwarding; direct access to news, weather and sports; and the convenience of booking show tickets or making dinner reservations with a ‘click’ or call. Nortel’s advanced IP telephony and unified messaging also can be used by staff to streamline business and casino operations.
