CIC Endorses Online Prep Tool

For those meeting professionals studying for the Certified Meeting Professional examination, a prep tool now comes with a seal of approval.

The Convention Industry Council has endorsed the Professional Convention Management Assn.’s CMP Online Prep Course as the only official online course for the CMP examination.

“As the administrator of the CMP examination, the CIC is excited to endorse PCMA’s CMP Online Prep Course as the official study course for the exam because it has had such a great, proven success rate at preparing candidates for exam day,” said Kimberly Miles, 2009 chair of the CMP board of directors.

The online course is a 23-module interactive course that addresses the topics of the examination, among other features:

• self-assessment inventory with feedback on strengths and areas to improve

• pre- and post-tests for each module

• overviews and learner outcomes

• reading assignments from the test’s three recommended textbooks

• two timed practice exams

Those who complete the online course earn seven continuing education units, according to PCMA. The online course is $299 for PCMA members and $399 for nonmembers. If three or more people from the same organization register, the cost is lowered to $249 per person.
