• Global Sources appointed Spenser Au deputy CEO. Au joined Global Sources 30 years ago. He most recently was president of Asian sales.
• Jack Chalden joined industry consulting organization The Augusta Group as an associate. Chalden most recently was vice president for industry relations at BDMetrics.
• The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission hired Nicholas A. Langella as senior vice president and general manager of America’s Center. Langella previously was senior vice president of arena business and operations at the TD Garden in Boston.
• Krister D. Ungerboeck (left) was appointed president of event management software producer Ungerboeck Systems Intl. He succeeded Dieter K. Ungerboeck, who retired as president, but will remain chairman of the board.
• Thom Connors, senior regional vice president of SMG Latin America, was named general manager of the Irving Convention Center at Los Colinas in suburban Dallas. Connors, who had been based in Puerto Rico, will remain in charge of SMG’s Latin America operations.
• Paula Hughes was named executive director of the Meeting Professionals Intl. Foundation. Hughes formerly was executive director and chief professional officer of three nonprofit organizations in North Texas.
• Thomas Karner now is managing director of Messe Graz in Austria. He previously was responsible for marketing and communications. Karner replaced Nilly Nail, who will remain with Messe Congress Graz as a consultant.
• Paul Kennedy was appointed executive chairman of Meetings Review, a digital TV and information channel for event, meeting and incentive travel planners. Kennedy previously was a group exhibition director at Reed Travel Exhibitions.
• LA Inc., the Los Angeles convention and visitors bureau, named Martin Jeffrey “Jeff” King to its board of directors. King is chairman of the board of King’s Seafood. He will serve a two-year term.
• Chicago Restaurant Partners named Hans Lentz executive chef at McCormick Place in Chicago. Lentz will be responsible for menu preparation and selection for McCormick Place catered service operations.
