Hawaii Welcomes New Partnership

An Aloha State convention center recently formed a new, strategic alliance that could have more association members from New York and elsewhere in the Northeastern United States flocking west.
The Hawai`i Convention Center’s alliance with the New York Society of Assn. Executives will put the destination in front of one of its key markets and a large association market, according to Hawai`i CC officials.
“We are extremely excited about this new partnership,” said Neil Mullanaphy, executive director of sales and marketing for the HCC. “It is very important that we are seen as a viable destination for associations that are based in metropolitan New York and the tri-state areas when they decide on where to hold their meetings.”
As part of the alliance, the Hawai`i CC will take advantage of several opportunities:
• The HCC will present keynote speaker Rosa Say, author of “Managing With Aloha: Bringing Hawaii’s Universal Values to the Art of Business,” during the NYSAE’s Jan. 20 luncheon, which the convention center will sponsor. In addition, 10 tabletop displays will highlight the destination during the event.
• The NYSAE will feature Hawaii prominently during exclusive events, including as a sponsor of two educational seminars at the Millennium Hotel on March 10 at the society’s Meet NY. Hawaii representatives will be on hand to welcome guests prior to each session and during the refreshment break.
The exposure in the heart of New York’s Times Square is valuable because of the location and time of year, according to HCC officials.
