Plastics Show May Head South

The Society of the Plastics Industry has heard presentations about hosting the triennial NPE – The Intl. Plastics Showcase in 2012 and 2015 from both Chicago, where the show currently has been held at McCormick Place, and Orlando. According to Barry Eisenberg, SPI's spokesman, a final decision regarding where the show will be held will be made "in the next few weeks." Meghan Risch, spokeswoman for the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, said when the show recently was held in June in the city, it had a $94 million impact in direct spending.
