Diversified Launches a New Asian Seafood Show
-- Tradeshow Week, 11/16/2009
Portland, Maine-based Diversified Business Communications is set to expand its seafood show empire with the launch of the Asian Seafood Exposition Sept. 7-9 in Hong Kong.
“The high levels of the Asian market's international seafood consumption and the ease of trade in and out of Hong Kong provide a clear opportunity to introduce an event with a focus on seafood products,” said Mary Larkin, who oversees Diversified's global seafood portfolio as group vice president.
She added, “The Asian Seafood Exposition will fill a gap in the industry, offering fresh seafood, packaged seafood, processed seafood, ready-made products and industry-related services to buyers from Asian retail and foodservice markets.”
The new event will collocate with another Diversified event, Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong, a tradeshow for the hospitality sector. Launched in 2002, Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong focuses on high quality goods and services for hospitality operators in Hong Kong, Macau and the southeastern region of mainland China, and attracts more than 8,000 visitors each year, according to Diversified officials.
“Six months after establishing Diversified Events Hong Kong with the acquisition of Asia Business Events, we are proud to build from that partnership to launch this new event,” said Nancy Hasselback, president and CEO of Diversified Business Communications. “Combining our proven expertise in the seafood and hospitality sectors with our reputation of producing highly effective face-to-face trade events, we are positioned to support and strengthen these industries in Asia.”
Diversified's seafood show portfolio includes the European Seafood Exposition, Seafood Processing Europe, Intl. Boston Seafood Show and Seafood Processing America.
