Chicago Launches Task Force

A task force was launched in Chicago by representatives from various aspects of the tradeshow industry to do a "top-to-bottom" review of all parts of the business there. The move was made the day after the Society of the Plastics Industry said it was taking its triennial NPE – The Intl. Plastics Showcase from Chicago to Orlando in 2012 and 2015 and a few days after the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society also said it was taking its show from Chicago to Las Vegas in 2012. Both groups cited high labor costs as the reason for moving their shows.
