The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center has proposed to add up to 500,000 square feet of exhibit space to the 516,000 it currently has, as well as a 70,000 sq. ft. ballroom, an auditorium, additional meeting space and a new, 1,000-room hotel, according to Jim Rooney, the Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Authority's executive director.
