Great Technology Panel

I am attending the 5th Annual TSW Fastest 50 in Atlanta this weekend. Rachel Wimberly led a technology panel yesterday with great observations by show producers on the implementation of technology. One panelist, Kenji Haroutunian who serves as the Group Show Director with Outdoor Retailer - a Nielsen show, described the problems in communicating with their IT team. His thoughts were echoed by the rest of the panel.
Despite the technology problems described by these shows, they were able to overcome disparate databases and disconnected business processes to rise above medicocrity and earn the accolades presented in Atlanta as the best in the industry.
I have enjoyed the chance to meet and greet old friends and new faces during this weekend program. It is refreshing to spend quality time with the organizers who are on the frontline to hear firsthand their technology pains and visions.
