I just completed an email campaign to a large group of industry professionals asking them to consider attending the eMERGE conference. I was surprised at the number of out of office replies I received. Even more surprising was the number of email addresses provided in these automated emails for other contacts within the organization. Talk about a spammer’s dream world. Names and email address delivered through an automated response is a quick way for spammers to build their database.

Tech Smart or Dumb Founded?

October 2, 2007 | Link This | Email this | Comments (4)

All of the technology created for events - registration, floor mapping, lead retrieval devices – is supposed to reduce the burden and increase our intelligence, but how often does it seem to just amplify our feelings of inadequacy?

I recently participated in a training session for a Webinar tool designed to facilitate my presentation on Web 2.0 tools. I was amazed to learn of the limitations of the plat...Read More

Good Folk

Following my post Texas Care Kit to Richard Hunter, I decided to contact him directly to let him know that he should be expecting a package any day, cause I was fixin' to send it.  While I had him on the line, we had the chance to discuss his vision and goals for the APEX initiative.  Beats me how something can still be an iniative after 10 years, but truth be known, this guy has his head on straight.  We covered some of the stuff that had been accomplished and not accomplished, and then he proceeded to define a fairly sensible game plan.

I still think he is going to find some use for cowboy boots, but I am willing to let the guy unpack his saddle before heading out to the fields.  I can't wait to see some tangible progress.

How long has been APEX been in the works &nda...Read More
