New Orleans Still in Game With Additional Bookings 03/15/2010
New Orleans’ meetings business continues to appear to be on the mend, as the Metropolitan New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau announced six more events booked from 2012 through 2014 that should generate more than $77 million in economic activity and drive nearly 70,000 potential attendees to town, according to bureau officials.

UFI Lists 2008 Euro Fair Statistics 03/08/2010
Auditing may not be a dead issue in the U.S. exhibition industry, but it certainly is a moribund one. That doesn't appear to be the case in Europe though, if the recently released report on Euro Fair Statistics is any evidence. UFI, The Global Assn. of the Exhibition Industry, published its list of member events audited in 2008.

LegalTech, Shoe Shows Hit Goals 03/08/2010
A legal technology event and a shoe show both bucked the economic downturn that's plagued most shows and posted higher numbers during their recent runs. LegalTech New York, a legal technology conference and tradeshow owned by ALM, saw upticks in attendance and registration revenue, and the Southeastern Shoe Traveler's Assn.'s The Atlanta Show Market also saw increases.

MeatXpo Teams Up With Grocers 03/01/2010
The Natl. Meat Assn. and the Natl. Grocers Assn. decided two shows were better than one and agreed to collocate their events scheduled Feb. 13-16 at the Mirage Resort-Casino. The NGA Annual Convention and Supermarket Industry Showcase offers attendees general sessions and workshops, while MeatXpo focuses on the meat industry.
