Western Exhibitors Re-gifts Its Shows
When the Seattle Gift Show closes Feb. 5, it will mark the end of an era for family-owned business Western Exhibitors. The show was the first one launched by Kay Leber, who also founded the company. Western Exhibitors sold the Seattle Gift Show, the Portland Gift & Accessories Show and the San Francisco Intl.

Seattle Rolls Green Carpet Out for PCMA
SEATTLE—During the Professional Convention Management Assn.'s Annual Meeting last year at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton said the group would not take its future events to any destination that didn't meet a minimum standard of greening requirements. She meant business: The requirements are actually listed in the meeting's RFPs.

Centerplate Scores New Contract
On Jan. 15, the Orange County (Fla.) Board of County Commissioners voted 5-2 in favor of hiring a new caterer, Centerplate, for Orlando's Orange County Convention Center. IAEE Says No to Drugs
The Intl. Assn. of Exhibitions and Events has adopted a policy aimed at achieving drug-free workplaces in the exhibitions and events industry. Its first step: random drug testing for all IAEE employees. The association will take other measures as well: The anti-drug effort that the Washington (D.C.) Convention Center undertook in conjunction with service contractors and organized labor in 2004 ...
